A MEMBER of a drug syndicate was arrested in an intelligence-driven anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, a top police official announced.

This, as Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, announced that their anti-drug operation is focused on high-value target drug personalities in the region.

Ylagan identified the arrested suspect as Al-Kabir Abdulgani Aming, 22, a member of the Hasim Calon drug syndicate.

He said Aming was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Purok Lubay in La Paz village, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Ylagan said seized from the suspects were some five grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P34,000, P200 marked money and P1,600 boodle money.

He said the Hasim Calon drug group operates in the town of Naga and other towns in Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Aming was detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
