THREE alleged big-time drug pushers were arrested, while some P4.7 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a buy-bust operation in the province of Tawi-Tawi, top military officials announced Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) chief, identified the arrested suspects as follows: Hassan Anggie Hawaan, 30; Mannan Nusuri Muhadi, 48; and Mudzna Anggie Hawaan, 42, all residents of Sitio Pundohan in Simangal village, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.

Vinluan said the three suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation by joint operatives of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-12, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and intelligence units Wednesday in Pag-Asa village, Bongao, the capital town of the province of Tawi-Tawi.

Seized from the possession of the suspects were 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P4,760,000 and bundles of boodle, as well as marked money.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were turned over to the custody of Bongao Municipal Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges.

Brigadier General Arturo Rojas, Joint Force Tawi-Tawi commander, said the successful anti-drug operation shows the good relationship of the command with the local government units and other law enforcement agencies like the PDEA and police. (SunStar Zamboanga)
