POLICE operatives have arrested two of the most wanted persons in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, an official announced Wednesday, July 21, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested most wanted persons as Arsenio Mendoza Labawan, Sr., 67, a rubber tapper; and Arnold Tacang Sanopao, 40, a factory worker.

Chang said Labawan was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest around 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, in Purok 7, Datu Tumanggong village, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

She said Labawan is listed as the top nine most wanted person in Tungawan and has a warrant of arrest for the crime of rape with no recommended bail issued on September 4, 2019 by the court of Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Chang said Sanopao was arrested in similar operation around 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, in Purok Rose, Sugod village, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.

She said Sanopao is the 10th most wanted person in Tukuran and has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery with force upon things with P40,000 recommended bail dated March 29, 2012, issued by the court of Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur province. (SunStar Zamboanga)
