A GOVERNMENT employee was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Friday, September 10, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as William Pearl Ticzon Sibud, 26, a casual employee at Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Engineering Office.

Chang said Sibud was arrested in an anti-drug operation around 5:54 p.m. Thursday, September 9, in Purok Masigla, Poblacion village, Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Chang said recovered and confiscated from the suspect were some P2,100 worth of suspected shabu packed in six small-size heat-sealed plastic sachets, P500 marked money, a motorcycle, a mobile phone, a disposable lighter and an empty cigarette pack.

She said the arrested suspect and the pieces of evidence seized were turned over to the custody of the Ipil Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
