POLICE authorities have arrested two wanted persons in separate warrant of arrest operations in the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and Lanao del Norte, an official announced.

Police Colonel Rexmel Reyes, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested wanted persons as Samira Nasa, 29; and Berto Amolin, 60.

Reyes said Nasa was arrested around 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, in Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte by operatives of ZCPO’s Station 10 in coordination with the police in that province.

Reyes said Nasa has standing warrants of arrest for violation of Republic Acts (RA) 9165 and 10591 issued by a local court with no recommended bail and P200,000 recommended bail, respectively.

RA 9165 is otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while RA 10591 is also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Reyes said Amolin was arrested in another warrant of arrest operation around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, at Purok 2 in Poblacion villages, Maigo, Lanao Del Norte.

He said Amolin has standing warrant of arrest for violation of RA 926, otherwise known as Violence against Women and their Children Act, with recommended bail bond of P6,000 issued by a local court.

He said Amolin was arrested by joint team from ZCPO’s Station 8 and Lanao del Norte policemen. (SunStar Zamboanga)
