LAWMEN have arrested two people tagged as among the most wanted persons in the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday, December 7.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula, identified the arrested wanted persons as Danilo Sanguila, 42, and Garry Ornopia, 24.

Chang said Sanguila, the number 2 most wanted person in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte, was arrested in a law enforcement operation around 5:45 p.m. Monday, December 6, in Mandih village, Sindangan, in the same province.

Sanguila has a standing warrant of arrest for murder with no recommended bail and attempted murder with P120,000 recommended bail issued on September 27, 2017 and April 30, 2019, respectively, by the court of Siocon.

Chang said the arresting team also confiscated a caliber .45 pistol with seven live ammunition from Sanguila.

Ornopia, the number 6 most wanted person in Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay, was arrested in another law enforcement operation around 3:24 p.m. Monday, December 6, in Sta. Village, Zamboanga City.

Chang said Ornopia has a standing warrant of arrest for rape with no recommended bail issued in July 13, 2020 by the court of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay. (SunStar Zamboanga)
