THE Zamboanga City Government on Sunday, June 12, turned over an Isuzu Traviz with utility van to each of the 98 villages, highlighting this city's celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence.

Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar, who led the turnover, said the acquisition of the vehicles is a promise that she made to the villages in line with the Barangay Emergency Network Group (Beng) and forms part of the Security Health and Education (SHE) program.

Each unit is equipped with strobe lights with built-in siren and public address system, one unit spine board and sticker design.

Each unit is inclusive of three years Land Transportation Office registration, Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) insurance, basic tools and warranty.

Funding for the purpose is taken from the 2021 Supplemental Budget 2 under the item motor vehicles, Salazar said.

She assured that the purchase of the vehicles fully complied with the bidding laws, rules and regulations. (SunStar Zamboanga)
