The award was conferred to Salazar on Wednesday, June 15, during the awarding ceremonies for Gawad Parangal highlighting the association’s 25th National Social Welfare and Development Forum and General Assembly at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The Gawad Parangal validating team cited innovative programs and services of the Salazar administration in uplifting the general well-being of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of the locality.

The validating team emphasized that these programs are highly commendable “which put your Gawad Parangal award for SWD (social welfare and development) Champions on top of the rank.”

Salazar rallied the support of the local government executives for the protection of the rights of children being her administration's very important persons or VIPs.
