The Area Police Command-Western Mindanao (APC-WM) said the incident happened around 9:40 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the public market in Kanaway village, Parang, Sulu but was only reported to the police around 1:50 p.m. Monday, April 17.
The APC-WM identified the fatality Alnasser Jasain, 35 and wounded was Junsal Jundam, 31. Both militiamen under the Delta Company of he 41st Infantry Battalion (IB) based in Tukay village, Parang town.
The APC-WM identified the suspects as follows: Jaksil Amil, a member of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) of Laba village, Maimbung; Abdulganih Amil, Laba village chief; Asrafal Amil, militiaman of Laba village; Samier Undali, Laba BPAT member; Jugarif Amil, Laba BPAT member; Lando Alibasa, militiaman of Patao village, Maimung; and, Midzchel Amil, militiaman of Laba.
The police said that the suspects shot the two victims around 9:40 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the public market in Kanaway village, Parang.
The 41IB troops responded and brough the victims to the hospital for treatment. Jasain expired on Sunday, April 16, while under treatment while Jundam is already in a stable condition.
The police said the suspects fled after the incident and the motive was rido or family feud. (SunStar Zamboanga)
