A FIRE gutted around 40 houses in Punta Dumalag 1, Barangay Matina Aplaya, at about 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21.

According to Senior Fire Office 4 Ramil Gillado, the Davao City Fire District Station spokesperson, the blaze quickly spread to the houses, which were close to each other and made of light materials.

The fire started in the house of Ronald Magpatoc.

Meanwhile, Gillado reminded parents to always look after their kids and avoid leaving anything that can trigger a fire.
