Implemented by the Public Employment Service Office (Peso) and the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in collaboration with other agencies, Project Hope entitles each beneficiary to receive 21 business franchises, which will be given in tranches, depending on the success rate.
Peso said in a statement Sunday, May 14, that the project forms part of Mayor John Dalipe's thrust on economic recovery and relief for residents hardest hit by the pandemic and other challenges.
The 186 families compose the first batch of beneficiaries who received the first three franchises -- rice, e-loading, payment center -- according to PESO.
The launching activity, which was held on Friday, May 12 at KCC Mall de Zamboanga also gave the project partners the opportunity to introduce other business opportunities.
According to the Peso, the Bank of Philippine Islands discussed the topic financial literacy, the Banco de Oro talked about micro-small and medium enterprises loan program while Ford Zamboanga presented the features of the Ford Ranger and the car incentive that will be given to the best area franchiser.
