THREE people were arrested and closed to P149,600 worth of illegal drugs seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City and nearby province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

The arrested suspects were identified as Sammuel Aaron Escio, 26, Shernan Muallamin, 41, and Alfon Alibasa, 50, the police said.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, Zamboanga City Police Office director, said Escio was arrested around 6:20 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Valle Subdivision in Divisoria village.

Lorenzo said seized from Escio were some 20 grams of suspected shabu packed in seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with P136,000, a pack of cigarettes, and P200 marked money.

Police Colonel Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said that Muallamin, and Alibasa were arrested in a buy-bust around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Purok Paradise in Baluran village, Tungawan.

Mallo said seized from the two were two grams of suspected shabu worth P13,600, coin purse, three P1,000 bills boodle money topped with one genuine P500 marked money and a cellular phone.

The arrested suspects were detained while formal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
