AUTHORITIES have arrested two more suspects and seized some P689,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug campaign in the province of Lanao del Sur, the police reported Thursday, September 14, 2923.

Police Colonel Robert Daculan, Lanao del Sur police director, identified the arrested suspects as Sarip Osngan Mamangacao and Alihassan Ampuan Mangacop, both of legal age.

Daculan, in a report to Police Brigadier General Allan Nobleza, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region director, said the two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, in Bobonga-Marawi village, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Daculan said the two suspects were arrested after they sold suspected shabu to an undercover agent in a buy-bust operation launched following surveillance of their illegal activities.

He said seized from the suspects were some 100 grams of suspected shabu with P689,000 and buy-bust money.

Daculan said the arrested suspects and recovered evidence were brought to Marawi City Police Station for proper disposition.

The arrest of Mamangacao and Mangacop came a day after two suspects were arrested and some P6.9 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in an anti-drug operation in Lanao del Sur.

Arrested were Rahib Cayugan, 45, a resident of Making, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte and Norain Gunda, 45, of Pindolunan, Butig, Lanao del Sur.

They were arrested by joint policemen, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives and soldiers in a buy-bust operation around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, in Gadongan village, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. (SunStar Zamboanga)
